gavel 1. Digital Delivery Exemption under Indian & International Law
Under Section 4(11) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 and the Indian Contract Act, 1872, contracts for the supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium cannot be unilaterally cancelled once performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent.
During our single-step checkout, purchasers explicitly request immediate performance by clicking "Complete Order". Consequently, the statutory right of cancellation ceases once the digital download link or license token is issued, except in cases of verified defects or duplicates as set forth in our Refund Policy.
shield 2. Friendly Fraud, Chargebacks & Account Integrity
E-Books maintains a zero-tolerance policy against fraudulent chargeback filings ("friendly fraud"). If an order is downloaded and subsequently disputed with a card issuer without first contacting our customer resolutions desk:
- The associated user account, download tokens, and reading library will be immediately suspended.
- Detailed cryptographic download logs and IP timestamps will be submitted to the acquiring bank as evidence of completed fulfillment.
- We reserve the right to report malicious transaction disputes to inter-banking merchant risk databases.
